The Nasa space shuttle launch...

That weekend, Yau, cow and me, decided to drive to Cocoa Beach to view the space shuttle launch..

It was our colleague here who mentioned to us about the nice view we could get there from Cocoa Beach..

It was quite a long journey.. and we stopped by their rest area along the way..

And fuel full tank price also quite reasonable (if you work and earn their money here).. Check this out, full tank 43 dollars..

As what the government keep on saying, our fuel in Malaysia is cheaper than US.. Well technically it is because here in US 1 litre = USD 1.. But they are not producing oil.. and their purchasing power is 3 times ours here in malaysia.. So can you imagine you earn RM3000 per month, you can get BMW for RM10,900 and your fuel full tank is just RM45! So if we want to compare the fuel price, we should also compare our taxes and our salary!

Sorry I was emotional abit there after being told that the Government 'had' to increase the fuel price 70 sen.. It just doesn't make any sense..

Lets get back to the journey... About 3 hours plus later at about 2pm (i think) we finally arrived at Cocoa beach... Luckily we came early, becoz the place is starting to pack with people... The car park there was nearly full..

Once we arrived, first thing we notice is the sands at Cocoa Beach.. they are as soft as powder..

And there's 'titanic' :-D..

The star cruise up close..

The beach..

And finally.. the space shuttle launch..

When the space shuttle reaches the speed of sound, you can feel the ground shaking.. Cow mentioned its the sonic boom when the space shuttle goes beyond the sound barrier.. Well, what ever it is, it was a fantastic experience..

Even though it was a tiring journey but it was worth it.. Here are some of the pictures we took on our way back..

The trees beside the highway..

The highway packs with people coming to watch the launch.. Too bad they end up stuck in traffic jam.. Lucky we reach there early..

State trooper helping out to clear the traffic jam...

The first journey...

It only took me an hour after my flight touch down in Florida to start my first journey.. thanks to cow.. my sigg friend who drove me all the way to a place called Naples Pier..haha

cow a.k.a Leopard

The distance took about 2 hour drives, but it was a good drive for me.. well, technically I didn't drive.. I doze off during the way back.. What can u expect from a guy who just reached US and having jet lag??

Oh well, enough telling story about me..

During the journey there, we notices there's swamp along the highway.. Somebody mentioned there is alligator and they had to put up fences to keep them from disturbing the highway.. I didn't believe it initially until I notice this..

Sorry about the blurry picture, it was taken during driving.. It took us a while to figure that one out..

So some of you might able to guess what is that.. Yes, that is solar receiver that generates power for the fences.. What ever that thing is doing, definitely trying to keep 'something' away.. scary huh?

Here are some of the pictures we took from the swamp..

We haven't reach Naples Pier yet :P.. That's just side story thought you guys want to know..

We continued our journey.. till we reach Naples Piers..

Well, wasn't what we expected though.. This is the West side of peninsular Florida.. I was told Miami so much nicer.. Oh well, hope you guys enjoy the picture.. Miami will be soon..

Lesson learnt, don't trust what shown by the brochure.. But who cares, its free ride anyway.. haha

And another thing I notice the weather there is similar to Penang, and their plants also look kind of similar.. Check the coconut tree.. Doesn't this look like Malaysia plant to you?

Ok, that's all for now.. Sorry for the delay in sharing these photos, spent most of the time either in office or 'missing in action' on a free ride.. There are couple more journeys to share with you all but will have to wait till the next post! The Fort Lauderdale beach and Space Shuttle Launch caught live comes next!

First week in Florida...

It has only been a week since my arrival here in Florida.. but it already felt like a month.. could that be the sign of no heart? :-D..

I can't wait to go back home to see my family and prepare for the arrival of my heir.. but that probably only going to happen in couple of months time..

Sorry for keeping you guys waiting for the pictures.. I had so many adventures to tell you today.. As you can tell when the company gave you superb car and unlimited fuel to refill, you only need to know where to go.. Feels like holiday with every expenses paid, only too bad my family couldn't follow.. Probably next time..

Here is the picture of my first car the rental car gave me..Toyota Rav4..

It was a nice 4wd car, but it only lasted 3 days with me.. I decided to make a change.. to this car :P

Well, its not the car I was looking for but thats the best the got right now.. The hunt for Mustang continues..

Now I'm staying in Crowne Plaza Hotel, right opposite to Sawgrass mills mall.. Convenient place to do shopping..

So here I am now.. in Sunrise Florida working in Motorola Plantation for couple of months.. I haven't take the picture of the office.. I was trying to stay away.. :P

Ok then, there will be more post to tell you more stories about my journey to Naple's Pier.. and Cocoa Beach while viewing live space shuttle launch!

Till next post..
